- vallják a sakkvilág pedagógusai. De milyen képességeket sajátíthatunk el a sakkozás segítségével? Egyáltalán, milyen a sakkozói gondolkodás? Hogyan gondolkodik egy nagymester? Megkönnyítheti-e a döntéseinket a sakk világán kívül ez a gondolkodásmód?

Chess is considered at once a sport, an art and a science. Today, the game’s connection to the world of computers, the Internet and information technology is growing stronger. Both a 2,000-year-old tactical game and a topic at the cutting edge of IT, chess is experiencing a renaissance in countries such as India, China, Canada and Australia. “Chess is not an objective but a tool,” say those teachers who use chess. But what skills can we learn with the help of chess? How does a chess player think? How does a grandmaster think? Can this type of thinking facilitate our decision-making away from the chess board?

A huszadik század ipari fejlődése hatalmasra növelte a modern társadalmak energiaigényét. Tény, hogy a fosszilis energiahordozók egykor kiaknázhatatlannak tűnő készletei rohamosan fogynak, a széndioxid-kibocsátás pedig környezeti katasztrófával fenyeget. A klímakutatók szerint ha nem sikerül beavatkozni a globális folyamatokba, a földi élet átalakulása nemcsak a jövő nemzedékét szembesíti komoly problémákkal, hanem mindannyiunkat. Az egyik lehetséges alternatíva a megújuló energiaforrások - a napenergia, szélenergia, bioenergia - elterjedése. Ezek valóban mind a Napból származnak, tehát megújulnak. Mézes Lili kiselőadásával.

The industrialisation of the 20th century have expanded the energy requirements of modern society to enormous proportions. The once seemingly inexhaustible supply of fossil fuels is fast diminishing, and carbon-dioxide emissions are threatening environmental catastrophe. According to climate researchers, if we are unsuccessful in intervening in global processes, the transformation of life on earth will not only force future generations to face serious consequences, but ours too. One possible alternative is the spread of renewable energy sources – solar energy, wind power and biofuels. These all genuinely originate from the sun and are therefore renewable. Supported by a short lecture by Lili Mézes.
