Életünk tele van megpróbáltatásokkal, stressz-eseményekkel. Egyeseknél a látszólag ugyanolyan súlyos stressz-ingerek lelki zavarokhoz, pszichiátriai betegséghez vezetnek, míg mások könnyebben kiheverik őket.
Our lives are full of difficulties and stress. We all carry with us past experiences that we have worked through to a greater or lesser degree, and which affect our present and future life. So why is it that stressful stimuli of a similar magnitude can result in mental problems, or even psychiatric disorders, in one person, while other people can deal with them relatively easily? How is it that individuals respond differently to the same environmental factors at different stages of their lives? The answers are likely to involve biological factors, in particular changes in cerebral function. These changes may have genetic causes, but they can also arise because of a general "attrition" over the course of a person's life. This can involve changes in the functioning of the chemical transmitters (their production, release, transport, binding or breakdown) that are essential to effective communication between brain cells. Thanks to innovative research and development, which has a long tradition both in Hungary and abroad, we have at our disposal many effective medicines to help fix these problems.
A közönség számára a "mű" a meghallgatható, a felhangzó forma.
To this day, most composers record their artistic creations in musical notation, which performers then read, interpret and re-create. For the audience, the "work" is the audible recreation of the composition. However, a true masterpiece is more than simply a performance. It is an intellectual creation of the highest order, often containing multiple "messages" that the composer has buried within it. It is possible that even the performer will be oblivious to some of these messages, as musical notation does not reveal them. One of the most exciting tasks for a musicologist is the decoding and interpretation of discrete messages hidden between the notes of a masterpiece. During such research, a lot can be gained from looking at the composer's earlier manuscripts, and through detailed analysis of the work itself. This lecture will focus on Béla Bartók's Sonata No.2 for Violin and Piano (1922). This composition may be reminiscent of the "slow-fresh" form of rhapsodies, while in fact it demonstrates a path of musical development from improvisation to standardized forms of expression. The work, influenced by folk music, also shows how a musical piece can begin with an ancient, raw idea and attain a high level of development wherein its structure contains motives and later adopts a chorus form.

A sorozat minden elképzelést felülmúló sikert aratott. A program a maga nemében páratlan, nemcsak a hazai média történelmét, hanem a legújabb tudományos eredmények publikációját tekintve is.
