Vadászni ott lehet, ahol van vad. A vadat ma úgy tekintjük, mint egy adott terület természetes produktumát, amelyet - megőrzésének biztosítása mellett - hasznosíthatunk. A hasznosítás feltétele a bölcs gazdálkodás, azaz az élőhelyek védelme, szükség esetén fejlesztése, valamint a fenntartható, optimális hozam szerinti vadászat. Az ilyen vadászatot modern fenntartó vadászatnak hívjuk. Miért is vadászunk?
Hunting is an integral part of the history of humankind. Hunting for survival, and the cooperation it required, played a crucial part in the evolution of Homo sapiens. The ancient hunters' need to communicate led to the development of speech, while successful hunting depended on our ability to make tools. Even after the emergence of Homo sapiens, hunting remains an organic part of human culture. Its persistence is also a result of evolution. The first depictions that can be considered art dealt exclusively with themes of wild animals and hunting. However, as animal husbandry became widespread, hunting was no longer necessary for survival. In the Middle Ages, it served as a form of training for battle, and people only began to think of hunting as a sport in the 19th century. Wild animals are a natural and renewable resource of the land, and through proper game management their utilisation can be kept at an optimum level. Huntsmen, relying on the ancient instincts that evolution gave the primeval hunter, can play a part in this. The hunting instincts are most people are sublimated into other - sometimes harmless, sometimes brutal - activities that are forms of virtual or symbolic hunting. Therefore, hunting is necessary, and "wise management" that is in harmony with nature, can ensure the necessary conditions for it.
A membránkutatás legfrissebb felfedezései napjainkra forradalmasították a lipidkutatást. A sejtmembránok nagy számú egyedi lipidkombinációja nélkülözhetetlen számos életfunkció működtetéséhez.
A fallacy is falling. To speak metaphorically, for a long time we imagined cells as houses around which the cell membrane is a fence whose posts are made of uniform lipid molecules. However, as it has turned out, this "fence" is very much part of the house and the "fence posts" are unique and irreplaceable components of it. In the membrane of a eukaryotic cell, there are over 1,000 different types of lipids, and their individual structures are indispensable for the body's vital functions. For example, all living beings sense the stress caused by extreme changes in temperature through lipid-dependent mechanisms. A defining factor in the development of some major diseases (such as diabetes) is a characteristic pattern of damage to the lipids of the cell membrane. Thanks to developments in several branches of science, we are learning more and more about how genes or unhealthy eating habits can distort the pattern of lipids and the fine structure of cell membranes. What is more, it is increasingly likely that we will be able to repair defective membranes by targeting them with "lipid therapy".

Életünk tele van megpróbáltatásokkal, stressz-eseményekkel. Egyeseknél a látszólag ugyanolyan súlyos stressz-ingerek lelki zavarokhoz, pszichiátriai betegséghez vezetnek, míg mások könnyebben kiheverik őket.
Our lives are full of difficulties and stress. We all carry with us past experiences that we have worked through to a greater or lesser degree, and which affect our present and future life. So why is it that stressful stimuli of a similar magnitude can result in mental problems, or even psychiatric disorders, in one person, while other people can deal with them relatively easily? How is it that individuals respond differently to the same environmental factors at different stages of their lives? The answers are likely to involve biological factors, in particular changes in cerebral function. These changes may have genetic causes, but they can also arise because of a general "attrition" over the course of a person's life. This can involve changes in the functioning of the chemical transmitters (their production, release, transport, binding or breakdown) that are essential to effective communication between brain cells. Thanks to innovative research and development, which has a long tradition both in Hungary and abroad, we have at our disposal many effective medicines to help fix these problems.
